10 Things Under $10

Looking to save on your vacation, but not skimp on experiences? From museums, to thrifting, to a little healthy sport competition, Kent has plenty of activities around the city for under $10 per person.

1. Pop In To A Thrift Shop Or Antique Store

Wander through thrift and antique stores to grab some of your favorites: vinyl records from the hopping 1950s, funky home decorations, or retro clothes to put a pop in your wardrobe. The St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store promises an eclectic day of shopping.

2. Let The Disc Fly At Lake Fenwick Park

Relax along the waterfront and enjoy a competitive game of disc golf at Lake Fenwick Park. (Don’t forget to pack a disc!) Spend the afternoon exploring the trail—through the woods and up the 177 metal stairs—or picnic in the park.

3. Launch Into Space

Sit behind the wheel of the Lunar Rover replica or turn the knobs on a Mission Control panel at Kherson Park downtown. The first-of-its-kind free mobile phone app, called Space for Kidz, enhances your park visit with augmented reality experiences.

5. Compete at Kent Bowl

Bowl them over with a good time at Kent Bowl. Reserve a lane for fun with family and friends. One game plus shoe rental is less than $10 per person.

7. Take To The Ice

Why wait for winter when you can ice skate year-round? The Kent Valley Ice Centre holds public skate sessions for under $10 per person, not including skate rentals. Go Tuesday night for cheapskate sessions, only $6.16 per person. No balance? No problem. Batting cages and mini golf are available right outside the rink.
