Garb Yourself in Green and Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Kent

No need to wait until summer to break out the tequila, lime and salt. With National Margarita Day on February 22, Kent, Washington is your go-to destination for mid-winter margs.

St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, March 17. Are you looking to raise a glass of Irish Stout, or dig into a piping hot plate of Irish potato cakes? Or maybe you’d like to skip the traditional St. Paddy’s Day festivities and cheer on the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey team. You’re in luck. You can do it all and more in (and near) Kent.

  • Visit a local brewery for live tunes and tasty sips. Airways Brewing is hosting a Patrick’s Day celebration on March 15 just in time for the annual release of their Irish Stout brew. Sink your teeth into a Chicago-style sandwich or hotdog from Chicago West food truck and swing your hips to live Irish music from The Surley Goats.
  • Head to an authentic Irish pub to start off the weekend. Family-friendly Harp Bar & Restaurant, overlooking Riverbend Golf Course, is kicking off the Patrick’s Day pub crawl located in Kent, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and Snoqualmie Ridge. Tap your toes to live music from the King County Firefighters Pipes and Drums band and snatch a taste of traditional Irish fare. The Irish potato cakes and cold beer on tap are calling your name.
  • Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a day early, on ice! Take in a Seattle Thunderbirds Western Hockey League game at Kent’s accesso ShoWare Center. Bring a date, gather up the family or plan a night out with friends. The T-Birds take on the Portland Winterhawks on March 16. Tickets start at $18 and parking is always free.
