3 Ways to Celebrate National Wine Day in Kent

Invite your wine-loving friends to share a bottle of red, white or rosé (no spitting bucket required).

While we’re always ready to toast with a glass of vino, wine does have an official day of its own. Raise a glass in Kent for National Wine Day, May 25. This year the holiday lands on a Saturday—giving you more reason to take a road trip to Kent.

  1. Visit Ducleaux Cellars, a small family winery making prodigious Walla Walla wines. This by-appointment-only tasting room features handcrafted, small-batch reds and whites. On the must sip list: 2018 Jordyn—recently awarded Double Gold at the 2019 Seattle Wine Awards. For every bottle sold, a $2 donation is made to Project Violet at Seattle’s renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
  2. Get a bottle (or case) of award-winning wines from Soos Creek Wine Cellars, producing 90+ rated wines since the 1980s. While the winery is only open to the public during its annual tasting party (you can sign up to be added to the guest list), many retail outlets and restaurants in Kent carry Soos Creek. On the must sip list: their 2016 red blend from Slide Mountain Vineyard.
  3. Let the experts at Reds Wine Bar & Craft Beers recommend the perfect wine and food pairings. This local favorite for gathering and sipping offers live music on National Wine Day from 8-10 p.m. and hosts Wine Wednesday with Lodmell Cellars on May 29 from 6-8 p.m. A seasonally fresh food menu will bring you back for another visit.

However you choose to celebrate National Wine Day, we know you’ll have a great time in Kent. Check out more things to do while you’re here.
